HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A NASHVILLE FILM PERMIT?
Metro Nashville currently requires film permit applications to be submitted at least three business days before the first shoot date.
This is the minimum submission window, so whenever possible, we recommend starting the permitting process as soon as your locations and shoot dates are confirmed.

WHEN SHOULD YOU ALLOW MORE TIME?
More complicated productions may require additional review and coordination, particularly if your shoot involves:
Metro Parks
Multiple public locations
Street or lane closures
Sidewalk closures
Traffic control
Police
Significant production parking
State roads or property
Other Metro departments or agencies
If your shoot involves any of the above, don't rely on the three-business-day minimum.
WHAT IF YOUR SHOOT CHANGES?
Metro currently requires revisions to an existing application to be submitted within 48 hours, or two business days, of the first shoot date.
Changes to your date, location or production requirements require additional review and approval, and Metro notes that last-minute changes may not leave enough time for review.
FILMING IN A NASHVILLE PARK?
Metro Parks has its own permitting process in addition to the Metro film permit.
Metro Parks states that applications submitted with less than 48 hours' notice may not be granted.
